The God of the Bible and Allah of the Qur’an

Part 12 — The Final Question: Which Jesus Will You Follow?

The Jesus of the Bible or the Jesus Presented by Islam?

After examining the differences between the Bible and the Qur'an, one truth becomes clear:

The greatest dividing line between Christianity and Islam is not simply a disagreement about religious practices.

It is the identity of Jesus Christ.

The Jesus of the Bible or the Jesus Presented by Islam?

After examining the differences between the Bible and the Qur’an, one truth becomes clear:

The greatest dividing line between Christianity and Islam is not simply a disagreement about religious practices.

It is the identity of Jesus Christ.

Both Christianity and Islam speak about Jesus.

Both acknowledge that He was born of the virgin Mary.

Both acknowledge that He was the Messiah.

Both acknowledge that He performed miracles.

But the most important question remains:

Are they talking about the same Jesus?

According to the Bible, the answer is no.

Because the identity, mission, death, and resurrection of Jesus are not secondary issues.

They are the foundation of the Gospel.

The Jesus of the Bible

The Bible reveals Jesus as:

The eternal Son of God.

The Creator who became flesh.

The promised Messiah.

The Saviour who died for sin.

The risen Lord who conquered death.

John declares:

> “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” (John 1:1 NASB)

And:

> “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us.” (John 1:14 NASB)

Jesus did not begin His existence in Bethlehem.

He existed eternally with the Father.

The Jesus Presented by Islam

Islam honours Jesus (Isa) as an important prophet and Messiah, but rejects the central biblical claims about Him.

Islam teaches that:

Jesus is not the Son of God.

Jesus is not God in the flesh.

Jesus did not die on the cross as a sacrifice for sin.

Jesus was not raised from the dead as the victorious Saviour.

This creates a fundamental contradiction.

A Jesus who is not the Son of God and did not die and rise again is not the Jesus preached by the apostles.

Paul’s Warning About a Different Gospel

The Apostle Paul gave a serious warning:

> “But even if we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you a gospel contrary to what we have preached to you, he is to be accursed!” (Galatians 1:8 NASB)

Paul was not speaking about minor differences.

He was speaking about a different gospel.

The apostolic Gospel was:

> “That Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day.” (1 Corinthians 15:3–4 NASB)

Any message that removes the cross and resurrection is not the Gospel the apostles preached.

Why This Is a Matter of Eternal Importance

The Bible teaches that eternal life is found in knowing the true God and His Son.

Jesus prayed:

> “This is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.” (John 17:3 NASB)

Notice:

Eternal life is connected to knowing:

The true God.

The true Jesus Christ.

Not a different version.

Not a different interpretation.

Not a different gospel.

The Father Has Revealed Himself Through the Son

Jesus said:

> “No one knows the Father except the Son, and anyone to whom the Son wills to reveal Him.” (Matthew 11:27 NASB)

The Son is the revelation of the Father.

This is why rejecting the Son has eternal consequences.

John wrote:

> “Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father; the one who confesses the Son has the Father also.” (1 John 2:23 NASB)

The question is therefore not simply:

“Do we believe in God?”

The question is:

Do we know the God who has revealed Himself through Jesus Christ?

The Gospel Message: Salvation Is Available

The good news of Christianity is not that people must earn God’s acceptance.

The good news is that God has already acted.

Jesus paid the price.

Jesus conquered death.

Jesus offers forgiveness.

Paul wrote:

> “Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.” (Romans 5:1 NASB)

Salvation is:

By grace alone.

Through faith alone.

In Christ alone.

Nothing we do can add to the finished work of Christ.

A Final Appeal to Muslims

To anyone who follows Islam:

Please consider the claims of Jesus Christ.

Do not reject Him because of what others have said about Christianity.

Read His words.

Examine His claims.

Ask God to reveal the truth.

The question is not:

“Is Christianity popular?”

The question is:

Is Jesus who He claimed to be?

If Jesus is truly the Son of God, then He is the only Saviour.

If Jesus truly rose from the dead, then He alone has defeated death.

If Jesus truly paid for sin, then He alone can give eternal life.

The Invitation of Christ

Jesus calls sinners to Himself:

> “Come to Me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28 NASB)

He does not offer a religion of uncertainty.

He offers forgiveness.

He offers peace with God.

He offers eternal life.

> “The one who believes in the Son has eternal life.” (John 3:36 NASB)

Conclusion

The Bible and the Qur’an cannot both be correct about the identity of God and the identity of Jesus.

The Bible reveals:

God as Father.

Jesus as the God the eternal Son.

The Spirit as God.

Salvation through the cross and resurrection.

Eternal life as a gift of grace.

Islam rejects these central truths.

Therefore, from the biblical perspective, the Allah presented in the Qur’an is not the same as the God revealed in Scripture.

The final question remains:

Which Jesus will you follow?

The Jesus of the Bible, who died and rose again to save sinners?

Or a different Jesus who cannot provide the salvation revealed in the Gospel?

Jesus said:

> “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father except through Me.” (John 14:6 NASB)

Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved. (Acts 16:31 NASB)
